Arsenal have completed the signing of Nicolas Pepe from French side LOSC Lille.

The Ivorian international, who has now become the club record signing reportedly signed a deal believed to be worth £72 million.

Speaking on the signing of the pacy winger, Head Coach Unai Emery lauded the qualities possessed by the Pepe and expressed his delight that he’s signed for the club.

“Nicolas is a highly-rated and talented winger who was wanted by many of the top teams in Europe,” Emery said.

“Signing a top-class winger has been one of our key objectives in this transfer window and I’m delighted he’s joining. He will add pace, power and creativity, with the aim of bringing more goals to our team.”

Arsenal are believed to have fought off competition from Premier League rival, Liverpool and Italian giant,  Napoli for the signature of the player.

Pepe, who will wear the Number 19 shirt at Arsenal was instrumental to Lille’s second place finish in the French Ligue 1 last season. He scored 22 times and turned provided 11 more times. Only Paris St-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe had more combined goals and assists than Pepe in the same season.

Pepe is our fourth signing of the summer, following Dani Ceballos, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba, who will spend the season on loan at Saint-Etienne.
