Ahead of the crucial game against Liverpool on Saturday, it has been confirmed that Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil are back in training.

Granit Xhaka featured in the first Premier League game of the season against Newcastle but missed out of the home victory against Burnley due to a knee injury.

Ozil on the other hand has not featured at all this season. He missed the first game due to security concerns. It would be recalled that he, alongside Sead Kolasinac, has been at the centre of a gang war that has threatened their involvement in games this season. He was reportedly sick when Burnley came to town and had to sit out the game even though Kolasinac featured.

It’s not clear whether Ozil and Xhaka will feature in the game taking place at Anfield. It is however a thing of joy that they are both available for selection.

Rob Holding has also started training with first team. He is progressing with his on-field rehabilitation and is expected to play the full 90 minutes against Everton’s U23 team tonight.

Emile Smith Rowe is expected to be back in training by the end of August while the trio of Bellerin, Mavropanos and Tierney are marked down for an Octoer return.
