David Luiz agitating for Arsenal move
This is not the news you might want to hear – but you’ll have to hear it any way. Chelsea defender, David Luiz wants to join Arsenal and has gone on strike to force that move.
Skysports reported that the player trained away from the rest of the Chelsea first team squad as a result. According to them, Arsenal have not yet made a formal bid for the player.
According to David Ornstein of BBC Sports, Luis is one of the options Arsenal are looking at in central defence.
David Luiz is among options Arsenal working on for centre-back – delicate but not for 1st time (see 31/01/18) #AFC keen. Kieran Tierney remains a target, Eddie Nketiah still deciding but likely Leeds, Alex Iwobi will happen IF Everton make suitable offer #EFC #LUFC #CFC #CelticFC

Although, Arsenal have not yet formalized their interest in the hairy midfielder, Head Coach Unai Emery confirmed the club are actively looking at some other defenders that could improve the team.
‘We tried to sign some important and expensive players for our defence, but we cannot do that and other second line players don’t make us really, really convinced to sign them,’ Emery told Skysports.
‘We have centre-backs. We also have one young one in Dino Mavropanos, with everyone speaking about him and how he can improve, and Rob Holding, but if we can in the last day we are going to try to sign another centre-back with the capacity to help us, so we can have a good balance with attacking and defending players.’
Will Luiz improve us? I honestly don’t know. Do I want him at the club? Definitely not but that’s just me.
It remains to be seen how this pans out but it sure promises to be an interesting couple of hours as far as we are concerned.
