It was always going to be easy, the number of goals weren’t known but a win was certain and rightly so. Arsenal got their UEFA Europa League campaign underway with a 4-2 win over Ukrainian side Vorskla.

Here are four take home from the routine win.

– That’s Some Squad Depth

Elneny, Holding, Lichtsteiner, Welbeck and Leno, same as Torriera were all paraded by Unai Emery with a chance at giving them some minutes and none disappointed the boss. Tidy on the ball, went about their businesses with ease and came up with the 3pts.

Squad depth at its best you want to say or will Unai have a problem with selection ahead of Sunday’s game vs Everton?.. Leno for Cech? Torreira ahead of Guendouzi?

Whatever decision the Spanish tactician takes on Sunday, one thing is clear, Arsenal have a squad depth to rely upon.

– PEA’s Confidence Might Just Be Back
It was just Vorskla!… That’s what they will tell you but look elsewhere, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s confidence in front of goal might just be back with his brace on Thursday night.

The first, a well taken goal which demands composure and precision after good work from Mhki and Iwobi, with the latter laying off a good cross for the Gabonese while the second was a sublime finish from outside the area in which any striker in the world would be proud of.

On Sunday, Aubameyang faces the side in which he scored on his Arsenal debut against, Everton, and would fancy getting one over the toffees yet again with his UEL brace helping him to gather momentum ahead of Sunday’s showdown at the Emirates.

– Guendouzi Leaves Us Open In Defence

First, I will be quoting Abu Azeez, an NPFL footballer with Rangers Intl. He said ” Watch the first half, Elneny and Torreira kept it cool. This isn’t the first time, but because the team is still in progress, people don’t see where the problem is because Guendouzi wants to play final pass and wants to be everywhere, they love the flashes he provides rather than the key duty”.

A footballer just said the above, are you still not convinced that Guendouzi might be such a brilliant 19yr old lad but the truth is that he leaves Arsenal open in defence.

Now, am not saying Matteo should be criticised because we conceded two when he came on as a sub but if we are to get our midfield partnership right and the intensity it entails, Xhaka-Torriera combo is the truth, way and life.

– We Just Can’t Stop Conceding Goals

Arsenal have now failed to keep a clean sheet in their first six competitive matches under Unai Emery and the wait for a first clean sheet continues.

Unai Emery said after the game: “It was disappointing to see the two goals go in because there was progress in the 90 minutes. We want to do better in this minute. When you are 4-0 up you want to continue to be competitive and to score more goals not concede like today.”

For all the noise and fuss about Leno starting, he couldn’t keep a clean sheet and it was evident how angry he was when the camera pan at him. There was no way he would have kept both goals out as our defending as a unit still need to be worked up by the coaching staff but look away it’s 3pts and a winning start to our Europa league campaign.

Back on Sunday, and this time Marcos Silva and Everton will be knocking at the Emirates in Matchday six fixture of the Premier League. Until then, enjoy the weekend and do things in moderation. #COYG
