Make that two consecutive win for Unai Emery and his wards, Arsenal traveled down to Cardiff and grind out a really tough 3-2 win. The gunners only second away win of 2018 with goals from Mustafi, Aubameyang and Lacazette helping the team to be placed ninth on the log at present.

Here are four things I noticed from the Cardiff City vs Arsenal game.

– Pierre Emerick Aubameyang needs Lacazette to flourish!
Feels like Unai Emery listened to the voice of the Arsenal fan who wanted to see Aubameyang and Lacazette link up from start.

The duo started the game and Arsenal looked a threat from kickoff scored through Mustafi bullet header but pegged back by Casmara on the halftime mark, and thus Arsenal needed a big 2nd half performance and boom, it happened Ozil to Lacazette who flicks to Aubameyang and #YoPierre waste no time to curl home a beauty.

From that moment onwards, the pair looked electrifying upfront and Lacazette would further score a cracker of his own, the winning goal.

– Guendouzi? No, It’s a Xhaka -Torreira midfield combo
You might not like his defensive awareness and will to track a pass, he might have given so many passes away that led to goals but Granit Xhaka is such a huge asset to Emery and Arsenal.

Emery is still starstruck about Guendouzi’s touches. The stability is still with Xhaka-Torreira pairing. Iwobi gave us the same touches when he was promoted to the first team.

Matteo is such a brilliant but still needs time and experience. Xhaka had a decent game when Torreira was subbed on. As for Lucas he just keeps impressing when called upon and only a matter of time before he start games.

– Defensively, we are in shambles.
Play from the back but seems Emery isn’t teaching the defenders on positioning while wanting to play form the back.

Away from that, we’ve now failed to keep a clean sheet in our last four league games and that’s worrying.

Sokratis,Monreal,Mustafi and Bellerin were good but had some lapses, which needs to be worked upon if we are to get near the top four. Rightly so, our defending as I type this isn’t near us qualifying for the UCL next season.

– It’s Leno’s Time

Petr Cech is a great goalkeeper, no one dear doubt his abilities. However, Emery want and loves to play from the back which Cech lacks from the last four matches we’ve seen.

How about Emery starting Leno in our next game, he has the body, the feet for passes, the saves and awareness and young too. If we really want to see the beauty of playing from the back and “save the world fc”, then, Leno deserves to start next.

Next is the International break after which we are away to Newcastle Utd. Until then, enjoy your week and YaGunnersYa!
