Arsenal legend and Skysports pundit, Thierry Henry is unhappy with Granit Xhaka. And rightly so.
The midfielder played a big part in the build up to Wayne Rooney’s goal, apparently unaware of the danger around him. He was dispossessed by Idrissa Gueye, and former Manchester United player, Rooney wasted no time scoring the Toffees’ first.
Speaking on Skysports, Henry is of the opinion that the Swiss player could have gotten up earlier after the challenge instead of appealing for a foul.
‘You have to be aware of what’s happening Xhaka, yeah maybe it might be a foul,’ Henry said.
‘The danger is Wayne Rooney. When Xhaka loses the ball he needs to go now, but it’s too late.’ ‘If you let Wayne Rooney take the ball, one touch, two touch, look up then you go one nil down.’
Xhaka however did redeem himself as his saved shot was turned in by Nacho Monreal. And that marked the start of the Arsenal recovery. The former Monchengladbach player was unlucky not to have his name on the scoresheet after his goal bound shot was stopped by the upright,
Goals by Ozil, Lacazette, Ramsey and Sanchez completed a great afternoon for the Gunners after last week’s debacle at Vicarage Road.
