The President of Italian side, AS Roma’s – James Palotta has said Arsenal’s on-loan goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny would like to remain at the club.
Speaking to SiriusXM, Pallota said the goalkeeper came to him and expressed his desire to stay with the Rome-based club.
“He told me that he wanted to stay with us,” Pallotta said. “I’ll say more, I was surprised by the fact some of the players I thought had wanted to leave came up to me before and after the final game to say they wanted to remain.
“It’s a sign we’ve got a good group, we just lack some depth and Monchi (director of football) will help us with that.”
Szczesny, who joined Arsenal from Legia Warsaw in 2006, left the club for Roma on loan in 2015 and later joined again for the 2016/2017 season. He featured in all 38 their league games last season as they finished second on the log.
According to reports, the goalkeeper is set to join Italian Champions, Juventus FC on a 4-year deal.
