Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger wants on-loan midfielder Jack Wilshere to sign a new contract with the club when he returns next summer but admits it will be difficult to do that.

The England man’s development at Arsenal has stalled due to various injury experiences he has had. The player was allowed to leave on loan to Bournemouth on the last day of the summer transfer after it appeared he might not get much game time this season.

Speaking to journalist at his Press Conference on Friday, Wenger said: “My feeling is I want him back. He always said he is an Arsenal man. If you only think about yourself then you go where you like to be. The word loyalty isn’t even the right word. He always said he was an Arsenal man.

“It was a human case (to let him go on loan), then a calculated financial case. If Jack comes back to his right level he will play for us.”

The midfielder, who has 18 months left on his current deal, has been in fine form for The Cherries this season and has featured for them more times this season than he has for Arsenal in the past two years combined.

It is believed by some fans that Jack Wilshere would have slotted in perfectly beside Francis Coquelin in the absence of Santi Cazorla if he wasn’t on loan at Bournemouth.

What all of us want for the player though is to return to his perfect best and become an Arsenal legend.

That’s not too much to ask for, Jack. Is it?
