A brace from Alexis Sanchez and a Theo Walcott header gave Arsenal a 3 – 1 victory over Bournemouth in the English Premier League.

The Gunners who have drawn their last 3 games needed a win to keep the pressure on the Top 3 and they did. After Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City all recorded victories yesterday, only a win would do for the North London club as they cannot afford to be left behind.

Ozil had Arsenal’s first chance in the second minute but his effort was blocked. Nathan Ake, on loan from Chelsea, also blocked a goal-bound shot from Elneny before Alexis Sanchez was gifted the first goal after a stray pass by right back – Steve Cook.

Goalkeeper Federici plays a short ball to Cook, whose terribly underhit back pass to the goalkeeper was stolen by Sanchez who had a simple job to do.

Bournemouth however equalized after Nacho Monreal was adjudged to have fouled Callum Wilson. The striker got up to convert the chance to draw the visitors level.

Bournemouth had the chance to take the lead minutes after when a free kick was headed across goal by Nathan Ake but Adam Smith couldn’t direct his header well.

The second half began with Arsenal on the front foot and it was no surprise when 9 minutes into the half, The Gunners took the lead through Theo Walcott. Sanchez and Ozil combined on the right before the latter found Monreal down the left, his perfect cross was met by Walcott to score his 99th club goal.

Arsenal continued to probe but were unable to extend their lead further. Bournemouth were unlucky not to have levelled in the 77th minute after Petr Cech denied former Gooner – Benik Afobe.

Arsenal made the game safe in the 91st minute when Giroud’s cut back pass was tapped in by Alexis Sanchez. Ozil released Giroud who after some fine work presented Sanchez with the golden chance.

With that victory, The Gunners returned back to winning ways as they say goodbye to the crazy month of November.

Attention now shifts to the EFL Cup against and Southampton and we can only hope the lads turn up.

Until then, Come on You Gunners.
