When Jack Wilshere left Arsenal on Transfer Deadline Day to join Bournemouth on loan for the season, many people (including journalists and some moronic ex-footballers) questioned the decision and some even went further to claim ‘exclusives’ of how that was the end of his Arsenal career.
Some of us knew it was just a matter of time before Jack returned as his temporary departure was just an attempt to get game time and to rebuild his career. Well, the man who knows more than any of us when it comes to matters like this has spoken and he has said Jack Wilshere has an Arsenal future and hope he finishes his career at the Emirates.
“Wilshere is a world class player. I like him further forward, it’s always a shame when he plays,” Wenger said at his pre-Southampton press conference.
“For me, it’s a chance for him to play regularly to get back to being a world class player. We had a chat together and he was concerned that he would not get enough competition and games early enough. The challenge is for him to play games.
“He’s a world-class player, he doesn’t have to show me that he can play at Bournemouth he just needs to be back [and playing] at a competitive level.”
“Let’s not forget that he missed last year… you can’t afford to be out two seasons without playing at the top level.
“He wanted games, that’s his desire and I thought it was logical. It’s important that he gets the number of games.
“I hope personally he will stay his whole career here.”
Jack is in line to play his first league game for Bournemouth tomorrow when they face West Brom.
