Portugal 2 – 0 Wales
The Welsh fairy tale is over. Without Aaron Ramsey in the team, Wales produced a toothless performance to lose 2-0 to a Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Portugal in the Euro 2016 first semi-final at the Stade Des Lumieres in Lyon. The enigmatic Ronaldo opened the scoring via a powerful bullet header in the 50th minute before teeing up Nani in the 53rd minute to put the game to bed.

Ramsey who missed the game due to suspension can be very proud of his tournament as he has produced arguably the best performances of any midfielder in the tournament.

If there is anything this game showed us, it was that contrary to popular opinion, the Welsh team need Aaron Ramsey more than they need Bale as his absence was so obvious in the team.

Arsenal can now look forward to welcoming Ramsey back to training in preparation for the new season.
