News emanating from the North East of England suggest that Arsenal will seal the signing of 20 year old Bolton Wanderers centre back, Rob Holding imminently.

According to The Bolton News, the youngster who favoured a move to North London since Arsenal’s interest was first revealed in May underwent and passed his medical at London Colney today after Arsenal agreed a 2 million pounds fee with Bolton Wanderers for his transfer.

It was reported that Bolton initially wanted to loan Holding back for next season – but that outcome now looks unlikely.

Bolton chairman, Phil Parkinson had insisted Rob Holding would not go for less than their asking price which is thought to be in the region of £2m.

Arsenal have been under increasing pressure to sign new players this summer having just brought in two players – Granit Xhaka from German Bundesliga side, Borussia Monchengladbach  for around £30m and Takuma Asano from Sanfreece Hiroshima in the Japanese League for a feed thought to be around £5m.

Is he a signing for the future or has to potential to slot in straightaway? We will keep a close eye on this one.
