Swiss International footballer, Granit Xhaka has agreed a deal to join Arsenal. The player joins us on a ‘long term’ contract (what isn’t long term when Arsenal is concerned) for an undisclosed fee.
Xhaka, a central midfielder who joins from Borussia Mochengladbach (God help us with all this tongue-twisting names) is expected to hard bite to an Arsenal midfield that is somehow depleted due to the departures of TR7, MA8 and MF 20.
Our new recruit who has 41 caps for Switzerland at the age of 23 (isn’t that remarkable) joined Mochengladbach in 2013 from Basel – Elneny’s former club – where he won two league titles.
The Boss Arsène Wenger has this to say about the lad: “Granit Xhaka is an exciting young player, already with good Champions League and Bundesliga experience. We have been watching him for a long time now and he is a player who will add quality to our squad. We wish Granit a good Euro 2016 with Switzerland and look forward to welcoming him to Arsenal ahead of next season.”
We also wish him a good Euros and prayerfully hope he doesn’t suffer the Arsenal curse.
